Our Story

Two men are building a wooden entertainment center with open shelves and cabinets. One man is kneeling, working inside the lower cabinet, while the other is standing and adjusting the top part of the construction. Tools and materials, including a cordless drill, vacuum, and screws, are scattered around them.

EKD started a long way from London on Jersey, in the Channel Islands, where Eddie and Kaylum both picked up their trades at just sixteen.

Island work has a particular standard. When your clients are your neighbours, there's nowhere to hide a rushed job, so you learn early to do it properly or not at all. Eddie went on to run his own successful painting & decorating business on the island whilst Kaylum built ten years across every side of carpentry, from first-fix through to the detailed finishing work that's hard to get right.

They moved to London separately, reconnected, and kept coming back to the same conversation that they could do something great together here, and so EKD was born in 2026.

Joined by Maria who leads design, bringing an architecture background into how every EKD project is planned before it's built.
